Kalia Richardson is an award-winning journalist with a track record of reporting on race, culture and entertainment through human interest, investigative and breaking news stories. She previously worked as an entertainment reporter at Rolling Stone, breaking trending news, fishing out red herrings in true crime dramas, investigating AI’s impact on Hollywood, chronicling exposés in the child actor industry and profiling artists in the burgeoning electronic music scene.
In 2023, she completed a year-long fellowship with the New York Times, examining cultural snapshots through the lens of global conflict, immigration legislation, financial distress and racial bias. Prior to this, she tackled justice and safety, the environment, business and breaking news at the NPR affiliate WUFT, the Orlando Sentinel, the Pulitzer Center and the Miami Herald. She has also served as a guest speaker at the School of the New York Times. Originally from sunny South Florida, she is an alumna of the University of Florida and a proud member of the National Association of Black Journalists.
